Surprise police: Father tells officers boy stole pot from son

A Surprise man was arrested on suspicion of using his 16-year-old son to sell marijuana to another minor, police said.

Police found Sean Corwin, 35, beating on the front door of a residence. He told authorities that the occupants of the home of taking $400 worth of marijuana from his son during a drug deal and refused to pay, Sgt. Mark Ortega said.

Police suspect Corwin had used his son to sell marijuana to a 14-year-old at a nearby park. Authorities believe the 14-year-old boy took the marijuana and ran home without paying, leading Corwin to drive to the home to demand the payment.

Police found the marijuana at the home as well as two more bags of marijuana at Corwin’s home near the 15900 block of West Central Street, Ortega said.

Corwin was booked into the Maricopa County Jail and is expected to face charges of possession of marijuana for sale, sale of marijuana to a minor, and possession of a firearm during a drug offense.
