The Real ID for Immigration Control

THE CON BEGINS..Mainstream media is ramping up their campaign to instill in Americans that this is the only way to stop the huge influx of illegals into the US. “This is for the good of the people, and the country”, be a good patriot and stand behind this issue. Where have we heard that before..ah yes, when the USA Patriot Act was passed.

The National Id Card is back in the news again, as Senators Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) take up their mission for immigration control. While this sounds attractive on the surface, meaning the immigration control aspect, the means to enforce is quite clearly the wrong approach. There has to be a better solution to illegal border crossings than have our fingers, eyes, or faces bio-metrically scanned.

Shumer and Graham are even advertising their product in the papers, in which they state: “The cards would not contain any private information, medical information or tracking devices. The card would be a high-tech version of the Social Security card that citizens already have.” Really ? I wouldn’t believe that for a minute. And it wouldn’t be unimaginable that checkpoints would soon follow. “Your papers please”

Not long ago, the US policy on immigration curbed the numbers of legal immigrants into the United States, with a number around 100,000 per year, but this has risen to 2.5 million per year in recent years. This massive exodus to this country dilutes American culture for people of all colors who have embraced the American ideal. No longer are immigrants assimilating to the American way, but rather imposing their culture on Americans, and Americanism itself.

The Real ID is just another brick in the wall to control all, not just illegals, and another bureaucratic monster in the making. This is why 25 states have approved either resolutions or binding legislation not to participate in the program. And what about the cost..is it cheaper to build the fence and hire more border agents, or create another government mechanism that sucks the last dollar from the taxpayer to pay for the equipment to enforce this invasion of privacy. Last time I checked, fencing material was a helluva lot cheaper than a biometric scanning device.

They say that the current Social Security card is obsolete, but I beg to differ, because it reminded me of an event where I saw that it can work and did work. A Hispanic fellow came to me looking for work, and because I used direct deposits to pay employees, I brought him down to the local bank to open an account. the bank manager asked for his Social Security card and ran a check on the number. Not surprising, it came back as an illegitimate number and this fellow was not hired for that fact. Point being, this did not cost a dime for me to verify citizenship other than the fuel and the very little time it took to check. Little Effort.

The Federal Government, corporations and small businesses are responsible for for the predicament we face today of immigration. Greed is not the only factor that drives these entities to hire cheap labor, but higher taxes as well.
The solution for this problem can start with personal responsibility as an employer, without involving the creature of the Federal Government at the expense of civil liberties.

More often than not, if you give them an inch, they’ll take a yard.
